El 1º de Junio se estrena “For Greater Glory” en cines de Estados Unidos. La película, también llamada “Cristiada” ya lleva semanas en los cines de México. Se trata de una etapa trágica (1926-1929) en la historia de México cuando el gobierno prohibió la fe Católica. Esta etapa, conicida como La Guerra Cristera, fue en un tiempo cuando el gobierno, bajo un presidente ateo, perseguía a la Iglesia Católicay al pueblo de México por su religión.
El elenco incluye artistas como Andy Garcia, Eva Longoria, Peter O’Toole, Eduardo Verastegui, Karyme Lozano, y Rubén Blades. Fue producida en México en el estado de Durango. Es dirigida por Dean Wright que tiene proyectos anteriores como “Titanic” y “Lord of The Rings”.
Gracias a Dios, nosotros si podemos ir a la iglesia y no somos asesinados o asaltados por nuestra fe. Pero, conocer historias como esta nos ayudan a que no se repita una terrible tragedia. Nadie desea pelear o morir por su fe, pero me imagino que si llegara el día que nos digan que no podemos ir a la iglesia o adorar a Dios o que asesinen a nuestros pastores, muchos tendrían el gran valor de tomar pie para luchar y defender.
En partes del mundo como el Medio Oriente todavía persiguen a los cristianos y en el día presente hemos visto ataques a la libertades religiosas aquí mismo en Estados Unidos. Así es que, creo que llega esta película en un momento muy relevante. Es importante conocer esta historia por lo que se puede aprender y para poder apreciar lo que hicieron muchos mártires para cambiar la historia de México. Búsquenla en un cine cercano y no se pierdan la oportunidad de verla.
