Bishop Elect Mike SisFor anyone who knows Msgr. Mike Sis it was always more of a question of “when” not “if” he would be named a Bishop in the Catholic Church.  I first met Father Mike when he was the head pastor of St. Mary’s in College Station and had the pleasure of serving him on the Parish Council when he was at St. Thomas More in Austin.  I’ve always considered him to be one of my spiritual fathers as I was confirmed while attending St. Mary’s and for the first time began to understand what it meant to be Catholic.  I believe that Austin Catholic New Media  would not exist if not for Father Mike, as he was the first person I went to talk to about our mission and how we wanted to use new media to evangelize the Diocese of Austin. He was always very supportive of our mission and provided much needed advice along the way.

All of us here at Austin Catholic New Media and in the Diocese of Austin will miss him but know that God has much bigger plans for him. Gig ‘em Bishop Elect!

One of the holiest, humblest, most gracious priests I know. Love you, Fr. Mike!
